LIL’ STARS ASTRONOMY PROGRAM

Robinson Nature Center
Saturday, January 4 | 10am, 11am | $4 per person | ages 3-8

Let your little one discover outer space through the views of the stars and planets, stories, crafts or song. Give your child a special nighttime experience during the day! Programs focus on a different theme each month- from colors of stars, to the stories of the constellations, to the seasonal changes in the sky. All children must be accompanied by a ticketed adults. Preregister to secure your seats. No late seating.

FROZEN AT THE COMMONS

Friday January 18 | 11am-2pm | Free | All Ages

Bundle up and head over to the Commons to celebrate all things Frozen@ A Frozen moonbounce on the plaza, a visit from Anna & Elsa, a scavenger hunt, Frozen sweet treats, and more! 

PARENT & CHILD PAINT WORKSHOP

Saturday January 18  | 10am-3pm | $68 adults, $35 children | ages 2+

Looking for a fun experience to share with your children? Join us for our Parent & Child DIY Workshop! Select a wood project from our gallery and choose one child project from the available options. We provide all the materials and instruct you step-by-step to create a beautiful piece for your home or for a gift. Choose from a variety of paint and wood stain colors in the workshop.

FROZEN FEST

Robinson Nature Center
Sunday January 19  | 10am-3pm | $7 members, $10 non-members | ages 2+

Put the "cool" in your winter during our frozen festival! Delight in our "Snowball Alley," frozen experiments and an ice cream sandwich bar. Take virtual tours of chilly locales, create tracks in the snow, and embark on a guided winter nature walk. Meet cold-blooded creatures and costumed characters from Drama Learning Center and enjoy other winter-friendly fun. Preregistration is recommended.

FAMILY FUN BINGO 

Kings Contrivance Village at Amherst House
Friday January 24  | 7:30-9:30pm | Free to attend, pay to play

Bring lots of dollar bills and quarters for a fun filled night of family bingo! Cards are 6 for $1.00, sodas are 75 cents and snacks are free! It’s a perfect event for the entire family to enjoy together.

Roughly 12 years ago our government reversed an almost decade old policy which allowed the sale of absinthe into the U.S. again. nd, accordingly, absinthe cocktails have experienced a revival. Since then absinthe based cocktails both old and new have experienced a revival.

DANCE & DINE AT THE KOSHARY BY MISTEKA

Saturday, January 18 |11am-12:30pm | $55 per class 

It’s the second season of Dance and Dine – a belly dance class followed by a delicious Egyptian meal at Koshary by Misteka in The Common Kitchen. Join us for a unique Egyptian experience through Belly Dance, also known as “Oriental Dance.” This low impact exercise can help relieve back and joint pain, increase bone density, help lose weight and reduce stress levels. After class, you get to enjoy a warm bowl of koshary, the national dish of Egypt, and a fiber and protein packed meal that is sure to pleasantly surprise your palate. This is a ladies only event. Hip wraps will be provided or show off your own. Space is limited; buy tickets in advance to reserve your spot.

STANDUP PADDLE BOARD YOGA

Haven on the Lake
Sunday January 19 | 5pm | $10

An athletic class, FloYo® Fit begins and ends with the signature FloYo® warmup and cooldown. This boot camp-style class includes interval training, body weight exercises, and cardio blasts to increase heart rate and build strength. The signature FloYo® class consists of vinyasa yoga sequences, where SUP sun salutations flow into lengthening/strengthening poses, balance postures, breath work, and playtime on the boards.

INDOOR HERB GARDENING

Love the Superbowl but don’t love beer? This is the class for you. In this class we will examine the essential flavor profiles for classic Superbowl food such as wings, pizza, chili etc. then determine the best wine pairings and taste them side by side. As per usual, we will discuss the 9 basic rules everyone should know for successful wine pairings.
