LIL STARS ASTRONOMY PROGRAM

Let your little one discover outer space through the views of the stars and planets, stories, crafts or song. Give your child a special nighttime experience during the day! Programs focus on a different theme each month- from colors of stars, to the stories of the constellations, to the seasonal changes in the sky. All children must be accompanied by a ticketed adults. Preregister to secure your seats. No late seating.
NEW! YOUR FAMILY’S TREE
Robinson Nature Center
Friday, February 1 | 2-4pm | $30 per family, $25 for members | All ages
Cheer up our winter forest as it waits for its foliage to return! Each family selects and decorates a tree along our trails (materials provided). Enjoy hot cocoa floats indoors while discovering more about the history and species of trees in Maryland forests. Your family's tree will remain on display as a community art exhibit for visitors to enjoy until the first spring buds appear. Inclement weather date: Feb 8

Treat your family to unique astronomy shows at Robinson! In January, we'll present hands-on astronomy in our auditorium (no planetarium component). Starting in February, each program features a full-dome movie preceded by a family-friendly planetarium presentation in our new, upgraded planetarium! No late seating.

A lifelong Maryland outdoorsman and a retired Biology professor, Bryan MacKay will share his love of outdoor activities and his knowledge of the places, plants, and animals of the region. Author of books on hiking, canoeing, and cycling, Mackay will talk about the natural history and ecology of his favorite places and the best seasons to experience them yourselves. After the presentation pick up a copy of a “bucket list” of 30 nature-places to visit in the County.

It’s the second season of Dance and Dine – a belly dance class followed by a delicious Egyptian meal at Koshary by Misteka in The Common Kitchen. Join us for a unique Egyptian experience through Belly Dance, also known as “Oriental Dance.” This low impact exercise can help relieve back and joint pain, increase bone density, help lose weight and reduce stress levels. After class, you get to enjoy a warm bowl of koshary, the national dish of Egypt, and a fiber and protein packed meal that is sure to pleasantly surprise your palate. This is a ladies only event. Do you love dessert? Do you love wine? If you answered yes to both questions, then we think you should try experiencing the wide world of dessert wine. Dessert wine is our JAM! When paired correctly it will enhance and change the dessert in ways which make both extremely enjoyable. In this class we will be joined by Certified Executive Pastry Chef Maria Bell on a guided pairing of desserts and dessert wines.
