ADULTS

MARYLAND LOST COCKTAILS

The Wine Bin: 8390 Main Street, Ellicott City 21042
Saturday, November 9 | 2pm | $30 ($10 credit towards purchase) | 21+

“The Southside, Diamondback and the Preakness--Marylanders imbibe history in their native cocktails, from local favorites to little-known classics. Early residents favored fruit brandies and potent punches until the Civil War, when rye whiskey laid claim to local palettes. During the golden age of the cocktail, grand hotels like Baltimore's Belvedere created smooth concoctions such as the Frozen Rye, but the dry days of Prohibition interrupted the good times.”  - Forgotten Maryland Cocktails: a history of drinking in the free state. Using historic recipes, we will explore a few of Maryland’s forgotten cocktails. Call the Bin with questions! 410-465-7802

THE 3B’S AND OTHER MAJOR ITALIAN REDS

The Wine Bin: 8390 Main Street, Ellicott City 21042
Friday, November 15 | 7pm | $30 ($10 credit towards purchase) | 21+

In this class we will taste and learn about the most famous Italian reds and how to decipher the labels of these very different wines. Learning the differentiating factors that the three “B” wines posses will show the expressive nature of Italy’s most important red grapes. We will also explore the impact of terroir, barrel size, and old-world winemaking styles so that you can navigate the “expensive” Italian section of a wine shop with confidence. BOURBON COCKTAILS

The Wine Bin: 8390 Main Street, Ellicott City 21042
Saturday, November 16 | 2pm | $30 ($10 credit towards purchase) | 21+

Bourbon purists will tell you that adding even a drop of water will ruin the whiskey’s flavor, but that’s just one of the many myths surrounding the spirit. In fact, there are an array of delicious classic and modern cocktails that call for bourbon. We have all heard of the Manhattan and the old fashioned, so this class is designed to show Bourbons range as a perfect cocktail companion. Call the Bin with questions! 410-465-7802
