PUBLIC STAR PARTY

Come enjoy the night sky through telescopes set up by The Howard Astronomical League (HAL). The Anne Arundel County Fair returns! Featuring rides, concerts, and lots of games and food!

NITE BITE FISHING

Centennial Park, 100000 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City 21042
Friday September 13  | 6pm | $5| all ages

Have you ever wanted to fish Centennial Lake at night? Now's your chance! Join Howard County Recreation & Parks for a unique opportunity to fish the lake after hours. Bring your own fishing pole, bait, tackle, bug repellant, flashlight or lantern, chair, or boat. Advanced registration is encouraged but on-site registration is available. Under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.

1ST FRIDAYS

Manor Hill Brewing:  4411 Manor Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042
Friday September 6 (recurs 1st Friday of the month) | 4-8:30pm | free | ages 21+

On the First Friday of every month at 4 pm. Limited release cans will be available at the Manor Hill Brewing Tap Room. Beers will vary from month to month and will be sold exclusively at the taproom throughout the weekend during regular Tap Room Hours (while supplies last).

YAPPY HOUR

The Wine Bin: 8390 Main Street, Ellicott City, 21043   
Friday, September 6 (recurring 1st and 3rd Fridays) | 6pm | free | family friendly

The Bin hosts Yappy hour in the parking lot adjacent to our building.  Bring your well-behaved leashed dog or come without a dog and enjoy everyone else’s dog.  Donations and a portion of our sales benefit dog charities. Live Music, Popcorn and a Free Beer and Wine tasting. Your dog is welcome inside The Bin as well.  This is a free family friendly event. ELLICOTT CITY OLD TOWN MARKET

Come soak in the atmosphere at our weekly farmers' market and ease into your weekend with live music, great food, plus local artisans in Ellicott City's Historic District

We feature the season's freshest, locally grown goodies including fruits and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, cheeses, humanely-raised meats, locally baked bread, pastries, prepared foods, soaps, health & beauty, art and more! Our market supports local businesses and the communities they serve. Weekly donations from our market are made to the Howard County Food Bank.

CARIBBEAN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL 

Howard County Fair: 2210 Fairgrounds Road, West Friendship  21794  
Saturday September 7 | 1-9pm | $25 per person/kids under 12 free | family friendly

All are invited to our annual Caribbean food, wine & fashion festival at howard county fairground. Saturday, september 7,2019,will feature  linganore, boordy wines, great shoals, and reggae wines. You are allowed to bring your tents, chairs, umbrellas, and coolers. Coolers must contain only ice, bottled water, and sandwich. Food vendors will be on site. Kids under 12 are free. Complimentary wine tasting fashion show.


SCOTCH COCKTAILS

We all know a scotch purist who insists that there is no other way to enjoy scotch except neat or on the rocks. Scotch is another one of those divine and complex spirits that ranges from light and soft to smoky and intense. In this class we will take the unpopular opinion and use scotch to make some classic cocktails worthy of a leather bound (or velvet!) chair and a cigar.


INTRODUCTION TO SPANISH WINE

Spanish wines offer some of the most exceptional values in the wine world. Often you can find crowd pleasing wines as well as bold, high end wines that easily stands up to the best wines in the world. In this class we will taste wines from the major wine regions in Spain.
