Spring Equinox + Super Moon

Happy First Day of Spring!

The night sky will be celebrating with a full moon! It will be the closest full moon to the start of spring since 1981. The moon tonight, is not just any full moon, it will be a Equinox Super Worm Moon. It’s called this because this is the time of year when the soil starts to soften and earthworms start to rise to the top of the soil.

A super moon happens when the full moon occurs when it is closest to the earth in its orbit around it. A super moon is considered slightly bigger and brighter than any other full moon. This super moon will be the third and final one of this year. You should see it start to rise in the east around 7:32pm on the first day of spring, and it will set the morning of March 21 in the west around 8:19am.

Now that it’s spring, you should also get your home ready for warmer weather. It will be here before you know it! Check out this list of things to do for your home this spring.
